Director Profile

Since 2006

Company History

In 2006 Craig Copeland established Industrial Electrics.  This was with the intent to set standards.  Craig aimed to do this with his offerings of electrical services to business and the government.

From the beginning, Craig maintained his commitment to the continual improvement of both the electrical operations and the client service quality.

For us, ‘Industry Best’ in safety, reliability, and value is a starting point, not a goal. We have earned our leadership reputation by consistently exceeding standards for all business and government clients through our licensed contracted installers.

We ensure that our electrical services are matched with our quality solutions. These outcomes are reflected in our client satisfaction. This is as we apply our abilities to the most complex projects.

About our director

LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY

After finishing his apprenticeship Craig left his hometown in New Zealand and headed for England to further his career as a mobile technician, maintenance supervisor and building services manager for various companies. Craig started his career in the banking sector with Barclay Bank as a mobile technician. He then progressed to the next stage of his career as a shift supervisor with Lehman Brothers before becoming a building service manager for NATWEST markets trading centre.

After deciding to head back to New Zealand, Craig was employed with Bechtel as a part of a commissioning team to start up new CAST house facilities for Rio Tinto in New Zealand and Australia. This experience enabled Craig to begin work with the United Group commissioning a gold mine in Orange, NSW. From Orange, Craig moved to the Resources sector and built and commissioned several power link switchyards.

With years of professional experience behind him, Craig moved back to the Gold Coast, Australia, as he wanted to focus more on being at home. Craig remained with the United Group, working in wastewater treatment plants before co-founding Industrial Electrics Pty Ltd. Craig now enjoys his role as a Director at Industrial Electrics and building a company known for outstanding quality and great working relationships with customers.

Company Culture

Craig believes in being a part of the local community.  IE have been proud sponsors of the ‘Currumbin Junior Eagles‘ rugby league team for several years.

We carry this unity in the community within our company.  Industrial Electrics have strong equal opportunity values and this is shown with our apprentices and qualified tradesmen from various cultural backgrounds.  We value each other’s diverse balance of experience and knowledge, working together in a non-discriminatory environment.

Wherever possible, Industrial Electrics employ local staff.  This is to ensure local knowledge is readily available and sustained within the company.  Students from local schools and trade colleges are encouraged to participate in work experience with the company.  This hopefully allows them to confirm their compatibility for a career in the electrical industry. Work experience often leads to an apprenticeship with the company.  It also creates the potential for the start of an interesting career.
